Lynne Taylor

Lynne has been the Manager of Diabetes Christchurch Inc since 2004 and has been involved with the committee for almost 30 years.  A Southlander originally from Mataura, Lynne has been living with Type 1 diabetes since her first overseas trip in 1980.

Lynne was mentored by the late Professor Sir Don Beaven, who was knighted in 2005 for his services to people with diabetes.

Lynne is a dedicated advocate for people living with diabetes in Canterbury and she is also Chair of the Canterbury Diabetes Consumer Group and a member of the Integrated Diabetes Service Group.

Chris Murray

Shop and Website Administrator  Chris’s initial job in 2013 was as Community Liaison Officer – to facilitate effective communication and networking with all community groups and like minded health service groups, societies, organisations and health providers at local, regional and national level and to create new initiatives and increase the awareness of diabetes within these communities and organisations. This role has evolved over the years to taking on more of a shop and website focus, while Chris Ross has also taken on some of the original job description.

Chris was trained in Medical Laboratory Technoloy and was also involved with Diabetes Youth, having had a daughter diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a toddler. She moved through the roles of Secretary, Treasurer then President at National and local levels for a number of  years, before ultimately settling with Diabetes Christchurch. 

Chris is also administrator for the Canterbury Diabetes Consumer Group.

Emma Breitmeyer

Emma is with us until she goes on maternity leave later in the year and maintains all our financial/account records.

Emma completed her Bachelor of Finance in Taiwan and now doing Graduate Diploma in Accounting at Ara Institute of Canterbury. She is also working at Copenhagen Bakery, sometimes you might be able to catch her at the busy café.

Emma moved to New Zealand since 2018 and she just had her daughter in early 2022. 

Emma will be working with us until November 2023 so if you have any inquiry about finance/Accounts don’t hesitate to get in touch with her.
